Our school

Prepared.
For everything.

At Prince's Garden Preparatory School, we have one aim, to give each pupil an education which enables them to flourish.

By focusing on academic excellence, character development and the nurturing of a global perspective, we equip children for all the challenges that life can offer.

We want to foster a love of learning within each child, for them to be curious and ambitious so that they leave us confident and excited about the future. Prepared. For everything.

Pastoral care

We believe children learn best when they feel happy at school, the well-being of our pupils is of paramount importance.

Small class sizes and a kind environment mean that children are nurtured and feel confident to approach their teachers.

We have a counselling training programme for peer-on-peer support and staff are trained in mindfulness and youth mental health first aid. The school is keen to foster close partnerships with families. Parents are welcome to discuss their children’s well-being with us at any time with face-to-face meetings or direct email to the class teacher.

Safeguarding

A statement on safeguarding

The school has a duty to safeguard and promote the welfare of its pupils. This responsibility necessitates a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy, together with a Code of Conduct for school-based staff and volunteers. We may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child's welfare.

Safer recruitment

Cognita Schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff, volunteers and third parties to share this commitment. Safer recruitment practice and pre-employment background checks will be undertaken before any appointment is confirmed.

A statement on British values

This school takes every opportunity to actively promote British values through its aims and principles, our assemblies and school systems and structures. We value the diversity of backgrounds of all pupils, families and the wider school community.

Term dates

Term dates are yet to be confirmed, but the 2020-2021 academic year will begin in early September 2020.
