Prepared. For the next stage.
At Prince's Gardens Preparatory School, everything we do is aimed at ensuring that your children thrive while they are with us.
Just as importantly, we support pupils to move on seamlessly to the next stage of their education.
We focus strongly on the next stage of development, enabling pupils to gain entry to some of the best senior day and boarding schools in London and beyond.
When children leave us, they are fully prepared for the task ahead, whatever and wherever it may be.
The school's curriculum ensures rigorous preparation for 11+ entrance exams and assessments and the next stage of education.
From Year 4, this includes timetabled lessons in verbal and non-verbal reasoning and current affairs and from Year 6, critical thinking, interview practice and a scholarship seminar programme.
Whole school assessment and exam weeks are held in the autumn and summer terms.
Year 6 pupils have weekly exam practice in preparation for their senior school entrance tests.
The Headmistress meets regularly with parents to help guide them on choosing the senior school where their child will flourish and holds an annual 11+ information evening.
Post 11+ programme
The school has a dynamic and varied post 11+ programme which takes place after senior school entrance exams have finished.
The activities widen the children's horizons and prepare them for the next phase of their education. This includes the development of life skills such as:
- First aid
- Sports leadership
- Touch typing
- Community service with Age UK
- The Westminster Citizenship programme
- The promotion of entrepreneurship with the amazing Young Enterprise Primary 'Fiver Challenge' small business project
The schedule also includes a careers day to encourage high aspirations and visits to a wealth of cultural venues and exhibitions.
