After a happy home, the most important experience you can give your child is the best possible education.
At Prince’s Gardens Preparatory School, that’s exactly what they’ll enjoy. From Pre-Prep to Prep, every pupil is encouraged to discover the very best of themselves; in the classroom, on the sports fields, in the library, in the pool, on stage, in the science labs and in the garden.
Innovative teaching, superb facilities and a broad, exciting curriculum will help them to thrive; preparing them for anything and everything.
Childhood is precious. At Prince's Gardens Pre-Prep, every moment is truly valued.
By combining the latest teaching methods with first class facilities and resources, each child is encouraged to achieve their full potential in all areas of school life.
Pupils are nurtured as they develop core academic skills, personal qualities and attitudes for life.
At the heart of our Prep department is a broad and exciting curriculum.
At Prince's Gardens, we believe in helping children achieve their personal best.
This is accomplished through excellent and motivated teaching and the promotion of learning skills that encourage pupils to be active, reflective and self-directed, as appropriate for their age and stage.
All children are taught PE and sport by specialist teachers on a regular basis.
Sport is timetabled regularly throughout each week and includes classic sports such as rugby, netball, football, hockey, gymnastics and cricket.
The fitness and physical development of pupils is also promoted through a variety of sports including dodgeball, basketball and badminton. Swimming is taught from Year 3 to Year 6.
Lessons take place in our multi-purpose hall and we also use Hyde Park, Imperial College's Ethos sports centre and the gym at Beit Hall which are a short walk away. Children are encouraged to try as many sports as possible, whatever their ability level.
Children have the opportunity to join squads and teams to compete with other schools locally and nationally, both in the Cognita family of schools and through our membership of IAPS.
Innovation and creativity
Prince's Gardens Preparatory School offers what we believe are the best indoor and outdoor facilities in central London.
Inspiring science labs, a spacious music room, art studio and innovative Maker Space are complemented by direct access to a large garden. The multi-sports spaces on site in conjunction with access to additional outstanding facilities provide an array of sporting venues.
These exciting spaces provide flexible learning environments.
From Year 2, drama is taught each week by a specialist teacher.
Drama is a fun way to learn about life, how to make your voice heard and express yourself physically and emotionally. Our young performers share their talents in a variety of events throughout the year, including special events at Harvest, Christmas and at the end of the academic year.
Drama promotes speech, communication and presentation skills, alongside teamwork and critical thinking. Children develop listening and concentration skills as they share ideas.
Music is a huge part of school life at Prince's Gardens and we have a busy programme of concerts, assemblies and musicals.
Music is said to be good for the soul, which is something we firmly adhere to by giving pupils the opportunity to take part in a plethora of activities including choir, instrumental groups and various music based clubs.
Performing, whether alone or in a group, brings joy and builds self-confidence. It also creates an immense sense of achievement and well-being.
Children acquire the foundation of their musical education through lessons held twice a week. We actively promote individual instrumental lessons and our proximity to the Royal College of Music means pupils benefit from tuition by a number of their highly skilled musicians.
