Pre-Prep - ages 3 to 7
We recognise the benefits of having the time and space to question, to collaborate and to explore the experiences that underpin lifelong learning.
In Nursery and Reception the curriculum incorporates communication and language, personal, social and emotional development, physical development, mathematics, literacy, expressive arts and understanding the world.
In Years 1 and 2 the curriculum becomes more structured and formal with English and mathematics every day. Children also have lessons on science history, geography, computing, PSHEE and French.
Prep - ages 8 - 11
The Prep department builds on the strong foundations laid down in the Pre-Prep and through the increasing use of specialist teachers, children are encouraged to develop their skills and passions.
Confidence is built through participation in class and music assemblies, school productions, concerts, ensembles, team events and competitions.
In Years 5 and 6, the children have further specialist teaching in mathematics, English and the humanities, as they build towards the 11+ assessment process.
The cost of sending your child to a private school is something that most parents worry about. Here at Cumnor House, we understand that parents want flexibility in the way they pay their fees. There are a range of options available to parents, from paying all up front and securing a discount, to spreading the costs termly or if you would like even greater flexibility, monthly through the School Fee Plan.
Our story: an inspiring world of education
Our school is part of Cognita which is an extraordinary family of diverse yet connected schools, spanning eight different countries. We share one common purpose: to create an inspiring world of education that builds self-belief and empowers individuals to succeed. Together, we provide a unique global education that goes beyond grades to develop all-round academic excellence – building resilient minds and encouraging positive, international perspectives.
We do this by sharing expertise, insights and best practice across the world – and by collaborating to develop rich learning environments in every school. We equip young people with the confidence and resourcefulness that prepares them to grow, thrive and find their success in a fast-changing world.
